Glen Campbell’s 1968 masterpiece Wichita Lineman stands as a watershed moment in American music, famously anchored by Jimmy Webb’s title track. The song introduced a distinct, early-1970s ballad aesthetic: hazy, romantic, and existentially troubled, epitomized by the stoic loneliness of a solitary telephone lineman.

While contemporaries like Johnny Cash fought to establish country music on its own terms, Campbell, a seasoned musician who had previously toured as a bassist for The Beach Boys, approached the genre with a fluid, genre-blurring philosophy. Wichita Lineman became one of the first albums to simultaneously top both the pop and country charts by seamlessly weaving diverse musical threads

180g 1LP black vinyl stereo reissue edition.
