Refund policy
Returns & Replacements
Per the ACCC's consumer guarantee, we provide returns or refunds for significant damage or defections to a vinyl record. If you receive a significantly damaged, defective, or incorrect item(s) from Bondi Records, you may return the product(s) within 14 days of delivery. When we receive the item(s) and verify the return of product(s), we will send you a replacement(s) or issue a full refund for the item and delivery.
Please note that the provided cover artwork, vinyl colour, and track listings serve as a general reference and may differ from the actual product. As our terms of service state, we are not responsible if the information is not accurate, complete or current. Any reliance on this information is at your own risk.
Please choose carefully when ordering on Bondi Records. Once you have ordered the item, you are committed to the purchase unless you have good reason to cancel. In accordance with new laws from the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission - you are not automatically entitled to a refund if you simply change your mind or you later discover that you made the wrong choice.
Exceptions/non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is significantly defective or damaged or if you received the wrong item so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Playback issues on non-adjustable and built-in speaker turntables
It is important to understand that a slight degree of warp is common and can be compensated for with an adjustable tonearm. We do not accept returns for issues like skipping or other playback problems that arise specifically with lower-cost turntables. These issues often occur on models lacking features like a counterweighted tonearm or anti-skate capabilities, or that use inferior stylus quality — commonly found in non-adjustable or briefcase-style turntables. We also do not accept returns for playback issues on turntables with built-in speakers.

If your turntable has a mechanism that looks like this, we do not accept returns for skipping.
Cosmetic Defects: Including Creased Sleeves, Seam Splits & Label Tears
We take great care in packaging our products to ensure their safe delivery. Despite our efforts, there may be instances where vinyl sleeves suffer minor creases, bends or seam splits during shipment, or cosmetic issues during manufacturing (such as slightly off-centre labels, extra labels, label tears or other minor imperfections).
Seam splits in particular are a common risk with vinyl records, especially during international shipping. Because records are shipped sealed inside their sleeves, the disc can shift and split the seam in transit. If you’d like to reduce the risk of seam splits, you can request that we carefully open the record and ship the vinyl outside of the cover (but still inside the outer sleeve).
Under the ACCC consumer guarantee, cosmetic damage that does not affect the playback of a record is considered as minor. This means businesses are not obligated to provide a replacement or refund for such issues, as the item remains fit for purpose.
If you do experience a cosmetic issue, we encourage you to report it by sending photos or videos to help@bondirecords.com. This will help us evaluate the situation. In many cases, minor label defects (such as a double label) can be remedied without affecting playback.
As a gesture of goodwill, we may offer compensation or store credit for any inconvenience caused, at our discretion. If the defect affects playback in any way, we will arrange a replacement or refund in line with consumer rights.
Sale items
Sale items may be discounted due to minor wear and tear, such as seam splits, creased sleeves, or other cosmetic imperfections. If a sale item is defective or damaged beyond the disclosed imperfections, please contact us within 14 days of receipt for a replacement, exchange, or refund. To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused and in the same condition as received, with proof of purchase required. Approved refunds will be processed via the original payment method or as store credit within 10 business days.
Returns Procedure
If you are to arrange for your goods to be returned, please follow the procedure outlined below :
Please contact us at returns@bondirecords.com with your intention to return the goods stating your order number and the item(s) you would like to return and the reason why. A representative of our Customer Service Team will get back to you with instructions on how to return the item(s).
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Any records returned to us will be checked on our turntables (we use Thorens, Pioneer and Sony players). If we can replicate the issue, then we will begin the refund process. The record will be returned to the customer if we cannot reproduce the reported fault. Please note that the customer will be responsible for covering the return postage in such cases.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
Restocking fees
Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of an error on our part, we charge a restocking fee of 25% of the purchase price, which would be applied through a total reduced refund or credit. The restocking fee covers the costs incurred for packaging, labour and merchant fees.
Refunds on Cancelled Orders (Before Fulfilment)
If you request a cancellation before your order has been packed or shipped, we’re happy to process a refund. However, please note that payment processing fees are non-refundable costs charged to us at the time of purchase. These fees will be deducted from your total refund.
The following merchant fees apply:
• Visa / Mastercard: 1.75% + $0.30
• American Express: 2.9% + $0.30
• PayPal: 2.6% + $0.30 (domestic) or 3.6% + $0.30 (international)
• Afterpay: 8% + $0.30
• Shopify additional platform fee: 1% per transaction (on top of the above)
• Currency conversion fees: Up to 3.5% + $0.30 applies for orders placed using non-AUD payment methods, in addition to the merchant fee
Shipping
The customer is responsible for covering the shipping costs to return the item. Please be aware that original shipping costs are non-refundable. The delivery time for an exchanged product may vary depending on your location.
We do not guarantee the arrival of returned items. For items valued over $75, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.
