Melbourne-based enigmatic instrumental outfit Glass Beams delivers a hypnotic fusion of Indian classical scales, psychedelic rock, and vintage funk grooves on their acclaimed 2024 EP, Mahal. Performing behind ornate golden masks, the trio weaves intricate guitar melodies, pulsing basslines, and eastern-influenced rhythms into an ethereal, cinematic soundscape.
Building on the success of their debut release, Mahal highlights the band's seamless integration of traditional South Asian instrumentation and Western psych-prog arrangements.
