Compiled by Soundway Records general manager Alice Whittington (DJ Norsicaa), Ayo Ke Disco ("Let's go to the disco" in Indonesian/Malay) gathers 10 rare, officially licensed deep cuts from independent local labels across Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. Documenting the dynamic period between 1974 and 1988, the compilation captures an era of rapid economic growth and cultural transformation where regional artists seamlessly fused indigenous grooves, city pop, Hindustani-Arabic scales, and psychedelic funk with western disco rhythms.

Spanning Indonesian Disco, Pinoy Funk, Synth-Pop, Indo-Pop, and Afro-Asian Groove, highlights include the hypnotically funky title track "Ayo Ke Disco" by John Philips & The Steps, the infectious groove of "Mangge Mangge" by Black Brothers, the rare disco workout "Pinoy Funk" by Regalado, and the synth-heavy psych-disco of "Disco" by The Rollies.
