Originally released in August 2005 via Def Jam Recordings, Music Of The Sun is the debut studio album by Barbadian singer Rihanna. Recorded when she was just 17 years old after being discovered by production duo Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken, the record introduced her signature sound to the world, an infectious blend of Caribbean dancehall rhythms, Caribbean soca, modern R&B, and dance-pop. 

Driven by the explosive global breakout hit single "Pon De Replay" and the follow-up smash "If It's Lovin' That You Want," the album laid the groundwork for Rihanna's eventual pop dominance.
