Released in April 1988 on Aura, Casiopea's own Polydor imprint, and their 13th studio album. The four-piece at this point is Issei Noro on guitar, Minoru Mukaiya on keys, Tetsuo Sakurai on bass and Akira Jimbo on drums; this was the lineup that had recorded with Lee Ritenour and Nathan East and Harvey Mason in Los Angeles earlier in the decade, though Euphony pointedly dispensed with all of that, recording Casiopea entirely at Studio Jive in Tokyo, with no outside players. Eleven originals at pace: 'Super Sonic Movement' was already a live staple, 'Red Zone' runs Latin funk into the red end of the dial, 'Solid Swing' takes a chance on a techno-inflicted big band arrangement. Within a year Sakurai and Jimbo would be gone, a dispute over a concurrent side project that eventually became Jimsaku, making this the last document of the classic quartet.
