PRIMA is a long-awaited debut with plenty of cultural cache already behind it and ADELA's Dream Academy backstory giving the whole project built-in narrative before a single track plays. 'KGB,' which was produced with the Dare's Harrison Smith, is a highlight with chaotic mid-2000s energy standing apart from the rest of the record's glossier instincts. Elsewhere, though, the album leans heavily on familiar reference points, echoes of Ariana, Rihanna and Tate McRae surfacing across tracks like 'Boys' and 'I'm the Man.' 'Therapy' cuts closest to the bone with a more raw and confessional style. It's a strong debut from an artist finding a voice.
