An intimate, masterfully arranged live acoustic document revealing the rich melodic depth behind Foo Fighters' biggest anthems.
Recorded across a three-night stand at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles in August 2006, Skin And Bones captures Foo Fighters stripping down their ferocious stadium-rock catalog into rich, dynamic acoustic arrangements. To pull off the expanded instrumentation, Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, and Chris Shiflett expanded to an eight-piece ensemble, welcoming back founding guitarist Pat Smear alongside violinist Petra Haden, accordionist Rami Jaffee, and percussionist Drew Hester.
The 15-track album transforms classic ragers like "Everlong," "Best Of You," and "My Hero" into nuanced, emotionally charged performances. It also highlights rare deep cuts and fan favorites like "Marigold" (originally a Nirvana b-side) and the title track "Skin and Bones". Sourced from analogue masters cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, this 2LP reissue is pressed on 180g Audiophile Black Vinyl via Pallas USA/RCA/Legacy.
