Wiggles Are Going Country?! Yep, They’ve Just Dropped Big Red Ute And It’s A Banger!

The Wiggles

Alright fam, we know The Wiggles rule the kiddie music scene with their Big Red Car, but hold onto your hot potatoes – they’ve just dropped a new single, Big Red Ute, and it’s a country rock jam you didn’t know you needed.

Yep, The Wiggles are officially embracing the yeehaw life, and they’re bringing their first-ever country music vibes to none other than the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2025. That’s right, the iconic children’s group will hit the AELEC stage (aka the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre) on Jan 21, 2025. Mark those calendars.

Anthony Wiggle (yes, the blue skivvy legend) said about the new track: “Big Red Ute is a playful nod to our OG Big Red Car, but with a country rock twist that’s perfect for both kids and parents.”

Not only is this track a bop, but it’s got some wholesome Wiggles magic in there too. Anthony added: “We’ve turned stuff like electric windows, cup holders, and engine noises into little adventures for kids. They notice the coolest stuff, like a window rolling up or the sound of the engine, and it’s straight-up magic to them.”

And get this – the song is designed for the whole fam to jam out to together! Anthony’s buzzing to get the crowd going at Tamworth, saying, “We can’t wait to perform it live.”

Lachy Wiggle (you know, the purple one) is just as hyped, saying they’re “so excited” to introduce Big Red Ute to festival-goers. He reckons it’s gonna have the little ones clapping, stomping, and yelling “vroom vroom” while parents tap their feet along too. “We can’t wait to see everyone at Tamworth joining in on the fun,” he said.

The Tamworth Country Music Festival is so ready for The Wiggles, too. Barry Harley, the festival’s big boss, said, “There’s no better place to showcase their latest country hits than in Australia’s Country Music Capital,” and can’t wait to see The Wiggles get their photo in front of the famous Golden Guitar. Two Aussie icons in one place? We’re living for it.

And it’s not just the fest organisers who are keen – Max Jackson, the festival’s Ambassador, is fully ready to bootscoot with The Wiggles, saying it’s gonna be epic for families already flocking to Tamworth.

Oh, and ICYMI, this isn’t The Wiggles’ first genre switch-up. Earlier this year, they dropped an EDM album under their alter-ego The Wiggles Sound System. It was called Rave of Innocence and it legit topped the ARIA Australian Dance Albums Chart, knocking Sia and Rüfüs Du Sol off their perch. The Wiggles, taking over the world one banger at a time. 🙌

Get ready to vroom vroom, Tamworth!
