You Am I – Someone Else's Crowd (Live In Seattle) - RSD 2025 Vinyl LP Record

By 1994, Australian rock band You Am I had established themselves as one of the most exciting musical acts in the country. They had released their debut album ‘Sound As Ever’ to critical acclaim, were opening for major Australian and international artists and were garnering a large fanbase as a result of memorable appearances at the Big Day Out festivals and airplay via national youth broadcaster Triple J. Legendary US rock band Soundgarden loved You Am I and invited them to join the US leg of their world tour. This opportunity would put You Am I in front of stadium-sized audiences. Throughout this tour, You Am I had the opportunity to record some tracks live on the road, in some ways, a prelude to the recording of their incredible second album ‘Hi Fi Way’, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025.     ‘Someone Else’s Crowd’ is a perfect time capsule of a band on the rise, in full flight! Recorded in 1994 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle, it underlines the urgency and explosiveness of You Am I live, while highlighting the beautiful fragility of Tim Roger’s songwriting.
