One of the world’s best-selling albums, Dire Straits’ Brothers In Arms, celebrates its 40th anniversary with an exquisite product suite.
Produced by Neil Dorfsman and Mark Knopfler, and recorded between November 1984 – March 1985 at AIR Studios, Montserrat and the Power Station NYC, Dire Straits’ 5th studio album Brothers In Arms was originally released on 17th May 1985. It was the first album to sell over a million copies on CD and went on to become the band’s most commercially successful album.
The album, featuring singles “So Far Away”, “Money For Nothing”, “Walk Of Life”, “Brothers In Arms” and “Your Latest Trick” spent 14 non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 in the UK Albums Chart and is the 8th best-selling album in UK chart history. Its accolades include the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and the BRIT Award for Best British Album.
Re-issued in this configuration for the first time since 1985, the single-sleeve 1LP mirrors the original pressing where tracks “So Far Away”, “Money For Nothing”, “Your Latest Trick” and “Why Worry?” were abridged to fit the vinyl format.
Track list:
LP - SIDE A So Far Away Money For Nothing Walk Of Life Your Latest Trick Why Worry?
LP - SIDE B Ride Across The River The Man's Too Strong One World Brothers In Arms
