Midnight Marauders is the Third studio album by Queens, NY, based hip hop outfit A Tribe Called Quest, originally released in 1993 on the Jive label.
The group's first three albums: People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, The Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders are hip hop masterpieces that consolidated ATCQ's position in the top echelon of hip hop acts of all time.
The classic tracks here reveal themselves a little slower than Low End Theory, perhaps because the album's sound is so consistent from front to back. It is a very clear artistic vision and that has to be respected.
This is also the album where Phife pretty much erases the argument that Q-Tip carries the group. Tip still steals the album, but there's a balance over the 14 songs and 51 minutes of playtime. Overall, this album is incredible and a must-listen for anyone who wants to build up their appreciation for hip hop as a whole.
